CONWAY & ASSOCIATES, P.C.,
founded in 2001, is the successor to the proprietorship Charles
L. Conway, Sr. CPA. The proprietorship was founded in 1986 by Charles
L. Conway, Sr., CPA who received his certificate as a CPA in 1968.
Charles L. Conway, Sr. began his career with Touche
Ross & Co. in 1966, upon graduation with a Bachelor of Science
in Accounting from LaSalle University in Philadelphia.
During the ten years he worked with Touche Ross,
he was promoted to supervisor in 1969 and to manager in 1971. The
mix of clients on which he was the manager included clients in the
Banking and Financial Services, Aerospace, Insurance, Retail, Distribution
Centers and other industries. Nearly all clients were publically
held and involved filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission
or other regulator agencies.
From 1975 to 1985, Mr. Conway was Chief Financial
Officer for several large real estate and construction corporations.
He was responsible for financial and general operations for commercial
real estate including over 80 office buildings, several golf courses
and one hotel. He also was responsible for several construction
companies, leasing companies, a mortgage servicing company and several
general service companies.
In 1986, Mr. Conway started his Accounting and
Tax services which has expanded to over 1,000 individual and business
clients. The types of clients include over 800 individuals for tax
and financial planning, more than 150 businesses ranging from individual
small businesses up to large contractors.
In 1990, Paul G. Conway, CPA, joined the firm
and in 2001 became president of Conway & Associates, P.C. Paul
received his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from LaSalle University
and his Masters of Science in Taxation from Philadelphia University
(formerly Philadelphia Institute of Textiles & Science.)
Both of the gentlemen are heavily involved
as volunteers for persons with disabilities, with Paul being on
the board of the Arc of PA, and Charles being a former state president
of Arc of PA, past president of Vision for Equality, and on the
board of PA Protection and Advocacy, Inc., a federally mandated
oversight organization located in Harrisburg, PA.
